Senior Leadership
Arash Yomtobian
President & CEO
Arash Yomtobian is president and CEO of Mercy For Animals. He is also a global executive leader, an entrepreneur, and a longtime advocate for compassion, with more than two decades of experience building and leading high-impact organisations. Before joining Mercy For Animals, Arash held senior leadership roles at Google, Meta, and TikTok, where he oversaw multibillion-dollar global partnership portfolios, developed new industry categories, and built scalable operating systems that transformed business outcomes. He began his professional career in investment banking, focusing on mergers and acquisitions and private equity, and he has maintained more than 15 years of active nonprofit governance throughout his career, including serving as interim CFO for Global Potential and guiding the successful merger of Positive Health Project and Housing Works. As an entrepreneur, he co-founded Nomad Noé, a vegan luxury fragrance brand. Arash has been an ethical vegan for nine years, and his commitment to ending factory farming is deeply personal and rooted in a broader mission to build systems of care for human and nonhuman animals and the planet. He brings to Mercy For Animals a combination of operational rigour and heart-centred leadership, along with a vision for a compassionate food system.
Lucas Alvarenga
Chief Strategy Officer
Lucas Alvarenga is chief strategy officer of Mercy For Animals, a role that combines his marketing expertise and extensive knowledge of the animal protection movement. Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Lucas played a pivotal role in launching Mercy For Animals in his home country in 2015. Since then, our support base in Brazil has rocketed to one of the largest in the farmed-animal protection movement. He has led programmatic initiatives across multiple countries and proved instrumental in Mercy For Animals’ global strategy.
Jodi Medoff
Chief Operating Officer
Jodi Medoff is chief operating officer of Mercy For Animals, overseeing legal matters, people operations and culture, organisational operations, risk management, and board and business functions. She also serves as corporate secretary. Jodi previously served as Mercy For Animals’ general counsel, employing her legal expertise to drive operational excellence, mitigate risk, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Amanda Rainey
Chief Philanthropy Officer
Amanda Rainey is chief philanthropy officer of Mercy For Animals, overseeing philanthropic relationships with individuals and organisations. Amanda leads the development of comprehensive, strategic fundraising plans that align with the organisation’s mission and long-term goals.
Amanda brings more than 20 years of dedicated leadership in the nonprofit sector, specialising in fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. She has expertise in capital campaigns, corporate partnerships, digital fundraising, and strategic partnerships and is known for tenacity and an unwavering commitment to driving long-term sustainability and impact.
Amanda earned her master’s in education from Indiana University and her bachelor’s in education from Southeast Missouri State University. Amanda has also earned the CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) credential.

Andy Koh
With 29 years leading global IT ventures, Andy Koh is the founder of two prominent Malaysian nonprofit platforms: PetFinder.my, the country’s premier animal welfare portal; and KindMeal.my, the pioneering meat-free lifestyle platform.
Andy’s organisations are at the forefront of empowering animal welfare organisations through technology while offering digital and AI consultancy services.
Collaborating with tech leaders such Google, the organisations introduce groundbreaking AI solutions to enhance global animal welfare and conservation efforts.
Beyond his work in animal welfare, Andy co-founded a Cambodian school in partnership with Asian Development Bank and MIT American Assistance for Cambodia.
Dr. Aina Fazlin
Dr. Aina Fazlin holds a doctorate and a masters in veterinary medicine, driven by her lifelong passion for helping animals. Her commitment to the cause led her to specialise in human nutrition, educating people about the health benefits of plant-based eating. She aims to improve human health and animal welfare by advocating increased fruit and vegetable consumption and reduced reliance on animal products. Her work bridges the gaps between nutrition, health, and compassion for all living beings.
Regional Leaders
Rully Prayoga
Rully Prayoga is a dedicated animal advocate working as regional organiser for Mercy For Animals Malaysia. With a passion for creating positive change, Rully coordinates grassroots efforts to promote plant-based eating and aims to reduce the most suffering for the most animals in Southeast Asia. His enthusiasm and strategic thinking enable him to excel in organising local events, building coalitions, and engaging community members. With a background in community organising and a deep commitment to animals, Rully plays a key role in driving the organisation’s regional initiatives.
Jacinta Johnson
Jacinta Johnson has been a voice for animals since the age of six and brings over 18 years of professional experience in marketing and communications, with a strong focus on animal protection and nonprofit organisations. Her expertise spans fundraising, campaigns, event planning, stakeholder engagement, and media relations. As a regional communications lead for Mercy For Animals, Jacinta is committed to driving positive change for farmed animals and supporting the compassionate movement in Malaysia and broader Southeast Asia. Jacinta is based in Malaysia’s beautiful city of Kuala Lumpur.
Gulam Mather
Gulam has dedicated over four decades to championing animal protection and calling for a compassionate world. Having worked with leading animal protection and plant-based advocacy organisations across Africa, the United States, and Asia, Gulam now leads Mercy For Animals’ expansion into Southeast Asia as a regional leader based in Thailand. His expertise includes strategy, operations, corporate engagement, government policy work, and undercover research. Gulam’s passion for fostering innovation in plant-based food startups positions him as a key driver of meaningful change in the fight for farmed animals.
